The Gang's All Here And They're All Over 50
(NewsUSA) - Who says you have to sit around the house when you're over
50? Who says senior citizens can't go out and make new friends? Who says when
you retire, you retire from having fun?
Members of the Over the Hill Gang International don't say that. They
say, "Let's hit the slopes." From the top of the Rocky Mountains, OTHGI is
calling all enthusiastic, fun-loving adventurers over 50 who still possess
their will to ski and the zest to do so.
With year-round activities, this one-of-a-kind "gang" is determined to
keep its members young at heart. This organization has one goal and one goal
only: to have individuals and couples enjoy the experience of skiing and other
outdoor activities with other physically active seniors. And thanks to its
goal, OTHGI is keeping people "50 or better" physically fit and enjoying life.
According to Arthur Foley, OTHGI's managing director, this group even
has active skiers in their 80s. Going the distance since 1977, OTHGI has more
than 5,000 members from around the world enjoying their carefully planned,
guided trips to destinations such as Aspen, the Canadian Rockies, France and
other ski hot spots around the world.
And in between ski seasons, this Colorado-based organization offers
bicycling, golf, hiking, rafting and "easy adventure" trips, keeping seniors
moving and grooving all year long. Members not only take pleasure in the
camaraderie they get associating with others of similar ages and interests,
they also enjoy superior membership discounts on equipment rental, lift
tickets and more at many ski outlets across the United States.
Local chapters, run by volunteers, arrange local events and activities
so members can meet other active, mature people in their area. Also, these
chapters provide more opportunities for OTHGI friends to get together on
regular ski days, social occasions, weekend events and even week-long ski
trips.
The Frequent Travel Program keeps members coming back for more, knowing
that by taking part in OTHGI trips, they are earning rebates that are good on
future trips. And along with the wide variety of destinations, comes wide
price ranges so everyone can find an appealing adventure.
With OTHGI's continued success of keeping youthful seniors vibrant and
vigorous, the group plans to continue its mission to let mature adults know
that you're never too old to hit the slopes. After all, "once you're over the
hill, you pick up speed." For more information on the OTHGI, visit
